RICHARD LEE, ESQ.
Of Counsel

Richard Lee is an experienced complex business litigator with more than 24 years of litigation experience. Mr. Lee has represented businesses and individuals in sophisticated commercial disputes involving breach of contract, fraud, insurance recovery and bad faith, unfair competition, technology licensing, bankruptcy, construction, employment, and other business-related claims.

Mr. Lee has been selected to Super Lawyers in Business Litigation every year from 2014 through 2026. He was also selected as a Rising Star in 2006 and 2007, and again each year from 2009 through 2013.

Mr. Lee began his legal career in downtown Los Angeles with the global law firm Holland & Knight and later practiced with Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. His years at leading international and national law firms exposed him to virtually every aspect of complex commercial litigation and business disputes across industries and national borders. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, international businesses, financial institutions, airlines, national retailers, pharmaceutical companies, oil companies, commercial real estate firms, technology companies, and gaming and development entities.

Mr. Lee has extensive experience handling complex litigation through discovery, dispositive motions, trial, arbitration, administrative proceedings, and settlement. His representative matters include obtaining a $2 million insurance recovery settlement in a heavily contested bad-faith action; representing a Taiwanese corporation in a seven-week jury trial that resulted in a $4.4 million judgment and a complete defense verdict on more than $11 million in cross-claims; and defending a software company in a $6.5 million commercial dispute involving contract, fraud, and interference claims, where successful dispositive and trial motions eliminated multiple claims and substantial punitive-damages exposure.

His trial and arbitration experience also includes successfully litigating a breach-of-contract dispute arising from the purchase and sale of a business and obtaining a complete defense victory for a manufacturer in a private arbitration involving an alleged breach of a five-year commercial supply agreement. He has also handled federal intellectual property litigation and complex administrative evidentiary proceedings.

Mr. Lee received his J.D. from the University of Southern California Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of California at Berkeley. He has been active in numerous legal and professional organizations, including the Korean American Bar Association and National Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and previously served as an elected member of the Barristers Executive Committee of the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
